Jack “The Wiseman” Corben was studying to become an academic philosopher, but grew bored with the idea of writing articles for scholarly journals and teaching in a classroom. It was at this time that he first encountered wrestling, and he instantly fell in love with the brutality and passion.
He trained in the States then wrestled with his brother, Geoff “GT Falcon” Corben, in Japan as a masked wrestler. The team fell apart, however, and The Wiseman struck out on his own. Eventually he was contacted by Marcus Raidon to join
Wrestling of the Future
, where he was teamed up with his brother as the Corben Brother.
Inside the snarky, comedic tag team champion, however, lurked an Anarcho-Nihilist who would declare himself the enemy of WoF and all order and structure. The Wiseman played a key role (though his exact involvement is unclear) in bringing about the end of WoF.
After bringing an end to WoF, The Wiseman met with some investors and started a new federation: Hybrid Pro Wrestling.
